The following assessments are available for Domestic buildings:

  • On Construction: Uses SAP (Standard Assessment Procedure) to calculate the energy performance of new homes, to ensure  that they comply with the Building Regulations for minimum energy performance (Part L).
  • Existing Homes: Uses RdSAP (Reduced Data Standard Assessment Procedure) to calculate the energy performance of homes, but it is designed specifically for the assessment of existing homes. 
  • PEA (Predicted Energy Assessment):  Uses SAP to calculate energy performance of houses developers are selling off-plan (not yet built).


The following assessments are available for Commercial buildings:

  • Commercial EPC:  Uses SBEM (Simplified Building Energy Model) to calculate the energy performance of buildings, but it is only used for buildings that are not used as dwellings.
  • Air Conditioning Assessment: Provides information on efficiency of equipment and suggestions for improving it's efficiency.
  • Display Energy Certificate: Shows the actual energy usage of a building, occupied by a public authority or institution providing a public service only.
